Star Wars Battlefront 2‘s unlockable Heroes cost 60,000 in-game credits, or the equivalent of 40 hours of gameplay, a Redditor has calculated.
Those who can access the game’s 10-hour trial via EA and Origin Access have confirmed that a handful of Heroes and Villains need to be unlocked to be used in multiplayer. The individuals, and their associated unlock costs, are as follows:
- Iden Versio: 20,000 Credits
- Chewbacca: 40,000 Credits
- Emperor Palpatine: 40,000 Credits
- Leia Organa: 40,000 Credits
- Darth Vader: 60,000 Credits
- Luke Skywalker: 60,000 Credits
With calculations posted on the Battlefront Subreddit, Redditor TheHotterPotato suggests it will take an average user 40 hours to earn 60,000 Credits. In other words, that’s 80 hours of straight gameplay before a player has the potential ability to play as both Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker — we write “potential” there, as there are a bunch of in-game unlocks that are vying for your hard-earned.
TheHotterPotato also calculates that players will need to amass 3 hours of gameplay to earn a single Trooper Crate, which contains much-needed upgrade Star Cards for the game’s different classes and characters.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 next week. The game has faced heavy criticism for appearing as ‘play to win’ in a recent beta.
