Star Wars Battlefront 2 Crystals cost real-world currency, buy loot boxes

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Crystals are what you’ll be able to buy with real-world money, and in turn will net you all-important loot boxes.

Listings on Amazon confirm that $5 USD will net you 500 Crystals, while $100 USD buys 12,000 Crystals. The listings also confirm that Crystals can be redeemed for in-game loot boxes.

Offering performance-boosting weapons and Star Cards alongside cosmetic items, players are concerned that Crystals encourage a pay-to-win situation within the game. That said, developer DICE has stressed that the loot boxes are a work in progress.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 17 November.
