Star Trek Voyager’s Chakotay to appear in Star Trek Prodigy

Actor Robert Beltran has spilled the beans.

Star Trek Voyager‘s Robert Beltran, who portrayed Commander Chakotay on the show, will appear within the upcoming animated show Star Trek Prodigy.

Beltran made the announcement earlier in the week as part of a convention held in Las Vegas.

“I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this or not yet,” Beltran began, according to TrekMovie. “I’m working on this voiceover/animation thing that Kate [Mulgrew] is doing, Star Trek: Prodigy.”

It’s unclear if Beltran will be voicing a new role or reprising the character of Chakotay. Voyager‘s Kate Mulgrew is doing a little of both, voicing an emergency holographic program modelled after Captain Kathryn Janeway.

We’ll have more on Star Trek Prodigy as it becomes available, including more information on where Australians will be able to watch (though it’s a safe bet to expect it on the newly launched Paramount Plus!).
