Star Trek Picard TV teaser shows better looking Data

A new Star Trek Picard TV teaser made by CBS shows a much improved version of Jean-Luc Picard’s friend and confidante, Lieutenant Commander Data.

Data, played by actor Brent Spiner, was previously revealed in an earlier Star Trek Picard trailer, though fans criticised the character’s unrealistic appearance. This new trailer shows a revised version of the android, with Trek Movie asserting the new version looks closer to Data’s final appearance in Star Trek: Nemesis.

We’ve included Trek Movie’s visual references below so you can see for yourself:

What do you think? We tend to side with Trek Movie on this one — Data’s less shiny and creepy and we’re happy about it.

The new trailer can be watched in full below.

Star Trek: Picard will debut on 24 January 2020 on both CBS All Access in America and Amazon Prime Video elsewhere.
