Star Trek Online hosts in-game museum over Star Trek Day

Paying homage to what has come before.

Update: The more things change, the more they stay the same. First seen in 2022, Star Trek Online‘s Starfleet Museum is once again available in-game, celebrating Star Trek Day.

As you can see in the image above, the museum lets you get up close and personal with a number of Starfleet hero ships including three Enterprises, the Enterprise-D, Enterprise-E, Defiant, Voyager, the NX-class Enterprise, Discovery, and the Enterprise-F. Doing so will also earn you the in-game title of Historical Documents Expert.

This year, the museum will be available from now until 5.00 am AEST on 23 September here in Australia.

Original story (3 September 2022): Star Trek Online will feature a limited-time, in-game museum celebrating Star Trek Day 2022, Gearbox has today confirmed.

Starting at 1.00 am AEST on 7 September and running until 3.00 am AEST on 20 September, the in-game museum will honour Star Trek shows of old.

“There will be a special Starfleet Museum in orbit above Deep Space Nine and Earth Space Dock,” reads a statement. “The museum contains the starring ships from Star Trek movies, television, and more. Hailing each ship will give you words from their crew, and both in universe and behind the scenes facts about the ship and show.

“Hailing all ten of the ships will grant you a special title: Historical Documents Expert.”

Star Trek Day 2022 itself takes place on 9 September here in Australia; Melbourne also has a special AR exhibit that’s worth checking out down at Federation Square.

Star Trek Online is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
