Star Trek Online adds Discovery content later this year

Star Trek Online will add Star Trek Discovery content in an upcoming Age of Discovery expansion later this year, Perfect World today confirmed.

As part of the update, “Star Trek Online players will be able to create a Federation Captain from Star Trek: Discovery and join forces with Starfleet Academy Cadet Sylvia Tilly, voiced by Mary Wiseman,” Perfect World detailed.

The expansion will also offer up a new Discovery era tutorial, two new episode, new Reputation tiers and “several other new gameplay features.”

Age of Discovery will open in the year 2256, just after the Battle at the Binary Stars, which featured in Star Trek: Discovery‘s pilot episode.

“Starfleet Captains now face J’Ula, matriarch of the House of Mo’Kai and sister of T’Kuvma, who seeks to alter the destiny of the Alpha Quadrant,” Perfect World advised. “Players must rely on the help of fellow Starfleet Academy Cadet Sylvia Tilly (voiced by Mary Wiseman), who has come home to assist with training and see them off on their first assignment.”

The expansion will also include the Dilithium Mines of Corvan II, the Crossfield class Starship U.S.S. Glenn and Starbase 1.

A release date for Star Trek Online: Age of Discovery has not yet been detailed, but the content is likely to head to Windows PC and Mac ahead of a release on Xbox One and PS4. The game’s most recent expansion, Victory is Life, is now available across all platforms.

Season two of Star Trek: Discovery will debut in early 2019.
