Star Trek Discovery Season 2 trailer drops alongside tons of info

Star Trek Discovery Season 2 was showcased at San Diego Comic Con, and a ton of new information about the show was divulged.

First, we got a great photo showing us what Anson Mount as Captain Pike will look like. Pike’s uniform, above, is a great combination of the old school Star Trek uniform and the standard issue one that featured in Discovery‘s first season.

Moreover, Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman confirmed the show will begin streaming in January 2019. Before then, a series of shorter episodes called Short Treks will be broadcast. The 10-15 minute standalone episodes will focus on different characters. Harry Mudd, Craft, Saru and Tilly have been confirmed as highlighted characters.

In new casting news, Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, The Librarians) was confirmed as the Enterprise’s first officer, Number One.

Finally, Kurtzman confirmed that “Yes, you will be seeing Spock this season,” as further evidenced by a trailer, below:

Star Trek: Discovery will stream its second season over Netflix here in Australia in January 2019. What do you think of all this news?
