Spider-Man Miles Morales may include Spider-Man remaster on PS5

Confusion continues to abound as reports that Spider-Man Miles Morales will include a remaster of the PS4’s version of Spider-Man on PS5 make the rounds.

The July edition of Game Informer makes the claim, reporting, “Miles Morales isn’t a traditional sequel, since it comes bundled with a remastered version of Insomniac’s Spider-Man that takes full advantage of the PS5 hardware.”

It’s unclear at the moment if the print magazine’s report was filed ahead of clarifications by Sony and Insomniac Games. When it was announced last month, a Sony executive said Miles Morales was “an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game,” leading most to believe it was a piece of DLC for a PS5 version of Spider-Man.

Shortly after that confusing claim, developer Insomniac Games declared that Miles Morales is a smaller, standalone title similar to Uncharted The Lost Legacy.

We’ve asked Sony for comment and will report back when more is known.

Spider-Man Miles Morales heads to PS5 later this year, likely timed for the launch of the PS5 itself.
