Spider-Man 2 adds New Game Plus, free and paid suits in March

New content incoming.

Spider-Man 2 will add New Game Plus, free suits, and paid suits from 7 March, Insomniac Games and Sony have today announced.

Officially termed version 1.002, the 7 March update will finally bring New Game Plus to the action-adventure title.

“We know many of you have been eager to replay the game on a harder difficulty, with all your suits and abilities carrying over,” said Insomniac’s James Stevenson in a blog post. “Or perhaps you want to just replay a favorite mission or two – you can do that, too! And there’s more to unlock – with Ultimate Levels, Golden Gadget styles, and more!”

The update also adds free updates for a number of Peter’s symbiote story suits alongside new suits for both Peter and Miles Morales. Audio descriptions and a screen reader will also be added to improve Spider-Man 2‘s already impressive accessibility options.

Moreover, a new paid suit pack called “Fly N’ Fresh” — shown in part above — will be added. Priced at $4.99 USD over in the USA, all American-centric profits will be in support of Gameheads. Australian purchases just go straight into Sony’s pockets, so you might be inclined to wait until an undefinied period of exclusivity ends and the suits are available at no cost.

Spider-Man 2 is currently available on PS5. It won Best PlayStation and Best Action Adventure categories in our recent Game of the Year 2023 awards program.
