Sony’s Yoshida weighs in on Dead or Alive Xtreme 3’s western availability

Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida has given his thoughts on Dead or Alive Xtreme 3‘s lack of western release.

“Instead of being conscious of an overseas release, it was probably judged to be better to aim only at the Japanese market,” Yoshida said, speaking with 4Gamer. “After all, there is a cultural difference. That’s because in the west the awareness on how women should be depicted in media such as games is different than in Japan.

“As for my personal opinion, if a representation is generally acceptable to the public within the Japanese culture, I think Japanese people don’t mind, but it is a difficult problem.”
