Sony: We’ve sold 900,000 PlayStation Camera PS4 peripherals

At a GDC talk, Sony Senior Staff Developer Support Engineer Chris Norden confirmed that around 15% of PlayStation 4 users have also purchased the PlayStation Camera peripheral.

Norden also added that supply of the Camera has been limited, so that number would likely be higher if all consumers had access to the peripheral when purchasing the console proper.

In raw sales figures, 15% of the platform’s install base means that around 900,000 PlayStation Cameras have been sold by Sony.

The PlayStation Camera is a key component of Sony’s Project Morpheus virtual reality headset, so expect sales to rise in future.
