Sony says sorry for the PlayStation Network’s Christmas downtime

Sony has apologised to gamers for downtime experienced on the PlayStation Network over Christmas with two goodies.

Sony Entertainment Network VP Eric Lempel took to the PlayStation Blog to outline what gamers would receive as compensation.

First, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a five-day extension to their subscription.

Moreover, all PlayStation Network users will recieve a 10% discount code good for one use. The code applies to a “total cart purchase” and not just a single game.

The PS Plus extension will automatically be applied, and Sony will detail how the 10% off code can be used in the near future.
