Sony promises extended PlayStation Plus subscriptions due to yesterday’s PSN outage

Sony has taken to Twitter to apologise for yesterday’s PlayStation Network (PSN) outage, going so far as to promise PS Plus memberships will be extended as a result.

Here’s Sony’s official apology:

Thanks for your patience today – stay tuned for details on PS Plus, PS Now, and video rental extensions.

Locally, PlayStation Australia also took to Twitter yesterday to apologise for the downtime.

PSN has been restored. You should be able to access online features without issues now. Sorry for the inconvenience https://t.co/ApeBD9i1Eb

More details of the outage were not released.
