Sony promises extended PlayStation Plus subscriptions due to yesterday’s PSN outage

Sony has taken to Twitter to apologise for yesterday’s PlayStation Network (PSN) outage, going so far as to promise PS Plus memberships will be extended as a result.

Here’s Sony’s official apology:

Locally, PlayStation Australia also took to Twitter yesterday to apologise for the downtime.

More details of the outage were not released.
