Sony outlines PS4 PS Plus, DRM strategy

At today’s Sony E3 2013 Press Conference, Sony flat out said that they will not be placing the same type of restrictive online checks on the PS4 or its games.

Jack Trenton confirmed that games will not have transferrable licenses, and can be given to friends to play at any time. He also confirmed that PS4s will not require a daily — or hourly, for that matter — online check like Microsoft’s Xbox One.

Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida then took to Twitter to post this delightful “tutorial” video:

Trenton that confirmed that the PS Plus program will continue on PS4, with PS Plus subscribers gaining free access to Driveclub PS Plus Edition at launch.

Sony didn’t explain the difference between Driveclub PS Plus Edition and the retail version of Driveclub, if any.
