Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time sneaks onto PS3, Vita; cross-saves supported

Well, it looks like Sly Cooper has stolen a coveted spot on PS Vita, and alongside a PS3 release will be bouncing around on both platforms with cross-save compatibility.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will see a PS3 and Vita release on the same date, though developer Sanzaru Games hasn’t confirmed if you’ll get a complimentary version of one title when buying the other.

If you’re new to the cross-save feature, Sony explains it as a “cloud-based saving [system that] allows players to seamlessly transition from gaming at home to on to go by saving the game on one console and resuming from exactly where they left off on another.”

Thieves in Time will also use the Vita’s gyro controls to tilt and steer certain aspects of the game — like steering arrows to their targets, for example.

Continues Sony, “the action begins when pages from the Thievious Raccoonus, the precious book containing all the Cooper clan’s thievery tricks, start to disappear and Sly and the gang must travel back in time to save his ancestors and restore the secrets of the Cooper family.”

Look for Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time in Spring 2012.
