Shazam, Aquaman trailers ditch dark & gritty for fun & colourful

Shazam and Aquaman San Diego Comic Con trailers have proven to be fun and colourful, breaking the trend of the dark and gritty affairs seen in the likes of Justice League.

Shazam‘s first official teaser trailer is delightful, focusing on the relationship of Billy Bateson (Asher Angel) and Freddy Freeman before and after Bateson is granted the powers of Captain Marvel the titular Shazam.

Meanwhile, Aquaman‘s official SDCC trailer, featuring Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Mera (Amber Heard), Orm (Patrick Wilson) and Atlanna (Nicole Kidman), is a bit gritter but also full of humour. Most impressive are myriad colours used to bring the undersea world of Atlantis to life.

You can watch both trailers below.

Aquaman heads to theatres on 21 December 2018, while Shazam comes later, debuting in April 2019.
