Share Play heads to the PS4 alongside update 2.0

Share Play, functionality announced alongside the PS4 reveal, will soon head to the console as part of the PS4 2.0 update.

Share Play will allow control of a game from a remote location, and Sony is touting the functionality as a means for a friend to help another friend beat a tricky part of a game.

The functionality means the remote player won’t need to download, install, or own the game as all play will take place on the original console.

A dedicated YouTube app is also part of the 2.0 update.

The PS4 update 2.0 will head to the console sometime this spring.
