Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One X can prioritise resolution or framerate

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will let players on Xbox One X decide between resolution or framerate.

For those all about resolution, you can run Shadow in 4K and targeting 30 frames-per-second (FPS). It’s unclear if the 4K resolution is native or achieved through checkerboarding, though Eidos Montreal confirmed this setting will feature upgraded textures and shadow maps. Those without a TV that can handle can choose this setting to get a super-sampled image.

For those who’d rather a fluid experience, you can select 1080p resolution targeting 60FPS instead. Honestly, this was the option I went with during our recent preview — once you go 60FPS, it’s hard to go back.

You can find out more about either setting over on Xbox Wire.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is out September 14 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
