Sekiro Shadows Die Twice reviews will come after its launch

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice reviews will come after the game has launched as Activision Blizzard will not be allocating early review code to media or influencers.

Activision Blizzard has told both VG24/7 and SkillUp that review code will come at launch and not before, meaning everyone will essentially get access at the same time.

Usually, a lack of early access code for press sends off warning alarms; generally, it’s reflective of title that a publisher isn’t confident in. There are massive exceptions to this rule, of course — Bethesda’s Doom is one example, though backlash from media caused the publisher to drop its policy of limited access.

In terms of Sekiro, this is FromSoftware we’re talking about, so a lack of quality is a little hard to necessarily believe. That said, Stevivor recalls having access to Dark Souls 3 for review purposes a whopping two weeks ahead of launch.

While press outlets around the world have had access to hands-on with Sekiro in the past week, Australian outlets need to wait until next week for the same opportunity; we can’t yet comment on the state of the title.

What do you make of the situation?

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 22 March.
