Has a second wave of unfair Destiny 2 PC bans been issued?

Users are claiming that a second unfair wave of Destiny 2 PC bans has gone out, and they’re not happy.

Weeks after Bungie confirmed that a first instance of unjust bans were issued — though the developer wouldn’t detail just how many that encapsulated — users have taken to the game’s forums (via Kotaku) to complain the issue is occurring again.

“So was in the middle of a nightfall with my 2 friends and poof banned,” Coop SBG wrote. “No reason why nothing. I’ve never been banned from anything what is this?”

As with the first wave, Bungie has responded by saying the bans are indeed legitimate. The developer stresses that “tools that pose a threat to the shared ecosystem of the game,” will result in a ban, while overlays like Discord, Xsplit, OBS and RTSS will not.

“We looked into it,” Bungie’s ‘Cozmo’ wrote. “Our recent wave of protective security measures were reviewed extensively and all were identified as having cheat tools running multiple times.”

That said, this was the same response issued before Bungie then admitted fault. We’ll keep you in the loop.

Destiny 2 is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
