Sea of Thieves Achievements not unlocking; “delayed,” says Rare

Sea of Thieves is having a rocky launch, with Achievements also impacted.

Stevivor staffers put a number of hours into the game last night without a single Achievement unlocking. Even for throwing up after a first, big night out. According to Rare, those Achievement unlocks have been “delayed.”

The developer has released a video detailing the game’s launch woes and acknowledged many topics, including game access, delayed rewards and Achievements, temporary missing items and performance issues on Xbox One X. You can watch it below.

Thankfully, Rare says that Achievements are being recorded and will eventually pop once things calm down.

“We have had to temporarily disable achievements being awarded to allow our services to cope with the scale of the messages flowing through them,” Rare has advised. “We are storing all awarded achievements, and they will be awarded to players once we are through this weekend and we release the first game patch.”

The first game patch is expected early next week.

Sea of Thieves is currently available on Windows PC and Xbox One.
