Xbox Game Pass Ultimate may combine Xbox Live, Game Pass subs

Microsoft will reportedly bundle its Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions into a single offering called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Reports from Thurrott and The Verge have backed up an initial allegation posted on Twitter which suggests that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be priced at $14.99 USD per month. For reference, Aussies, an Xbox Live Gold subscription is currently set at $9.99 USD.

Microsoft, of course, said it will not speculate on the rumours. We’ll have to wait and see if this report is true. Personally, I’m all for it — having one subscription rather than two just makes me feel a bit easier; I’m already juggling subscriptions to Netflix, DC Universe, Plex, Spotify, PlayStation Plus and Nintendo Switch Online in addition to Xbox’s offerings. Ben and I actually talked about this quite a bit in the most recent Friendly Fire Show.

We’ll keep you informed as more is known.
