Silent Hill, Silent Hills may find a new life through Sony, report suggests

A new report suggests that Silent Hills may actually see an eventual release thanks to an alleged partnership between Konami and Sony.

Rely on Horror reports that SIE Japan Studio is looking to do a “soft reboot” of the Silent Hill franchise alongside Konami, planned for an exclusive release on PS5. Moreover, the site reports that Hideo Kojima and his Kojima Productions studio also has the go-ahead to continue work on Silent Hills, a game Kojima was developing while still at Konami.

Additional rumours — via a now-deleted 4chan post by a person claiming to be a Konami employee — suggest that Sony is in the process of obtaining the Castlevania, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid IPs from Konami directly. We’ll report back on that facet of the rumour mill when more information is obtained.

For its part, Kojima Productions was in the news recently for teasing what many believe to be Silent Hills. We’ll keep you posted.
