Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release suggested by companion app

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release rumour has been given more fuel for its fire thanks to code found within the game’s companion app.

Thanks to data miner BlackScout (via RockstarIntel), we now know of several snippets of code that refer to a now non-existent PC version of the game. Said snippets include phrases like, “PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpPC” and “CommandIsPcVersion(void) 000000000166A12C”.

Rockstar has yet to confirm a PC version of the game, but we’ve already seen hints at one. First, a Rockstar employee mentioned a PC release on his LinkedIn profile. Next, a European retailer listed a PC version of the game for sale next year.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

For now, Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on Xbox One and PS4. We reviewed the game here and have a number of (spoiler-free) guides available for use here.
