PS4 update 5.0 to bring 1080p, 60fps Twitch streaming to PS4 Pro

Update: Sony has confirmed the details below, saying the update is available to selected users now for purposes of testing.

Original story: The next PS4 firmware update, 5.0, is said to support 1080p, 60 frames-per-second Twitch streaming on PS4 Pro.

The report comes by way of Eurogamer, who is said to have a copy of the update’s release notes.

In addition to the enhanced streaming support, the update is said to allow for following of a player without the need of a friend request, blocking users from the follow option and further account management option.

Eurogamer says update 5.0 will be released alongside an updated PlayStation mobile app in the next few weeks.

Will you take advantage of beefed up streaming support on PS4 Pro?
