Project Scorpio rumours: Internal power supply, support for 4K, 60fps Game DVR

Project Scorpio is said to sport an internal power supply and support for 4K, 60fps Game DVR videos, according to new rumours.

Windows Central‘s report suggests that Project Scorpio, like the Xbox One S, will feature an internal power supply.

Moreover, the site’s sources suggest that the console will support HEVC and VP9 codecs. That last one is most important, as it has the potential to encode 4K, 60fps Game DVR videos. If true, it means that Project Scorpio game recordings till trump the 1080p, 60fps videos currently recorded by Sony’s PS4 Pro.

The Xbox One can currently record video at 720p, 30fps.

Microsoft has yet to detail Project Scorpio, the next iteration of the Xbox One, but we expect to hear more about the console before E3. Project Scorpio will be available in the 2017 holiday season.
