Nintendo patents new controller — is it for the NX?

A new Nintendo patent has been filed for a new controller design most are attributing to the upcoming Nintendo NX.

The patent document, newly discovered by NeoGAF, was filed back in February 2015. The submission looks like a Wii U controller, though it only has two face buttons rather than four. The controller also has two scrollable shoulder buttons.

Nintendo hasn’t commented on the patent, of course. The publisher has also submitted a recent patent for a disc-less console.

We’re expecting more news on the Nintendo NX soon.
