Nintendo internal memo makes Switch Joy-Con drift repairs free

A leaked internal memo suggests Nintendo will repair Switch Joy-Con controllers suffering from Joy-Con drift for free.

Reports of the internal memo and its content were today shared by Vice, which provided quotes from the document in question.

“Customers will no longer be requested to provide proof of purchase for Joy-Con repairs,” the memo reportedly reads. “Additionally it is not necessary to confirm warranty status. If a customer requests a refund for a previously paid Joy-Con repair […] confirm the prior repair and then issue a refund.”

Nintendo wouldn’t comment on the memo, instead offering the same comment provided in the past.

“At Nintendo, we take great pride in creating quality products and we are continuously making improvements to them,” a representative stated. “We are aware of recent reports that some Joy-Con controllers are not responding correctly. We want our consumers to have fun with Nintendo Switch, and if anything falls short of this goal we always encourage them to visit http://support.nintendo.com so we can help.”

Are you experiencing Nintendo Switch Joy-Con drift? If so, what has Nintendo support offered to do for you?
