Microsoft is currently testing multiple upgraded Xbox One prototypes

Not to be outdone by Sony and work on a rumoured PS4.5 (NEO), The Verge today reports that Microsoft is currently testing Xbox One prototypes with upgradeable components similar to those that can improve the “performance of a PC gaming rig.”

This news comes after recent FCC filings have been uncovered that seem to indicate Microsoft is working on two new Xbox One models. One of those is believed to be the equivalent of an Xbox One slim, offering the same functionality as found in the current console, yet in a smaller package.

We’ll have more as it’s uncovered.
