Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel cancelled, says report

Gone before we officially knew it existed.

An Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel has reportedly been cancelled before it was officially announced.

VGC reports that the sequel, which was said to be in development at Ubisoft Quebec, has been shuttered due to “perceived challenges around establishing the IP”.

The sequel was reportedly focused on Hawaiian Polynesian myths instead of the original’s focus on Greek and Chinese mythology.

While Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed the cancellation of the title, it did confirm a restructure of Ubisoft Quebec.

As part of our global strategy, we are redirecting and reallocating some creative teams and resources within the Quebec studio to other unannounced projects,” a spokesperson said. “The expertise and technologies these teams developed will serve as an accelerator for the development of these key projects focused on our biggest brands.”
