Nikkei today reports that Hideo Kojima has left Konami to form a new studio.
Reports allege that Kojima’s contract with the beleaguered publisher ended today, freeing the developer to move on.
Nikkei continues to allege that Kojima is already in talks with Sony to develop a game for PlayStation.

Update: Sony and Kojima have confirmed the news, saying Kojima is on board to create a console exclusive title for the PS4.
Kojima’s studio will still go by Kojima Productions.
