Grand Theft Auto 6 could have female protagonist, isn’t expected until 2024

Lots rumoured.

Rumours about Grand Theft Auto 6 are flying fast and furious, with one report saying the game will have a female protagonist and that we shouldn’t expect to play until at least 2024.

Bloomberg is the outlet making the report, saying that the studio is working to erase what one source described as a “boy’s club” culture. That female protagonist will go a long way as part of the change to a more progressive studio.

According to the report, the female protagonist — already a first for the franchise — will be Latina. Grand Theft Auto 6 will allegedly be set in a city meant to represent Miami and will have more interior locations than any Grand Theft Auto to date.

If all this sounds great, players will nonetheless have to remain very patient: the report continues onto say that the title is at least two years away.

Rockstar confirmed that it was in active development of the project back in February; it’s recently (reportedly) scrapped work on remasters to focus on its next big thing.

We’ll of course keep you up to date on Grand Theft Auto 6 as we learn more.
