Rocket League goes free-to-play next week

Rocket League will go free-to-play next week, developer Psyonix has confirmed.

Players in Australia should expect the free-to-play transition on 24 September, though an update will be released later today, setting the stage for the popular sports game’s new format.

The title will launch on the Epic Games Store on the same day it goes free-to-play; as we’ve already detailed, the title supports cross-play and cross-progression and those who already own Rocket League will be given Legacy status.

“In order to celebrate Rocket League going free to play, there will be an all new in-game event called Llama-Rama soon after… launch,” Psyonix also advised.

Rocket League is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.
