Resident Evil Village heavily inspired by Resident Evil 4

With "plenty of surprises".

Resident Evil Village “took a lot of inspiration” from Resident Evil 4, Capcom Producer Peter Fabiano has recently proclaimed.

“You’ll notice we took a lot of inspiration from Resident Evil 4. The team has put a ton of effort into creating a truly authentic feel,” Fabiano told Official PlayStation Magazine. “There are plenty of surprises to keep you on your toes; players will find a balance of combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving.”

Fabiano also told the publication that he considers Village Capcom’s “best survival horror game to date” and that “we are constantly sharing information across Resident Evil teams.”

Resident Evil Village is a sequel to Resident Evil 7 and is expected on 7 May 2021 across Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4 and PS5. A PS5-exclusive demo called Maiden is available now; a second demo will head to all platforms ahead of the game’s full release.
