Resident Evil heads to the cloud on Switch

Missed out? Not anymore...

A series of Resident Evil titles will head to the Switch via the cloud from late October, Capcom and Nintendo have declared.

Resident Evil Village will first head to the cloud from 28 October, followed by the availability of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 before the end of the year.

While Australians will have access to the titles, Nintendo has clarified access.

“These games use cloud streaming technology, and you require a stable and permanent internet connection to play them,” Nintendo Australia said in a press release. “Due to server availability, access may be limited to Sydney and Melbourne metro areas. Access outside of these areas may not be optimal or may not be possible.”

Keep that in mind if you’re planning to pick the games up.

Resident Evil Village will get new content in the form of The Winter’s Expansion in December 2022; a new third-person mode will be added alongside a new story mode.
