Resident Evil Code Veronica remake: Capcom’s getting hopes up again

Here we go again.

Capcom’s once again bolstering the hopes of people who are keen for a Resident Evil Code Veronica remake.

At a recent shareholder Q&A (via GamesRadar), Capcom said it was “carrying out discussions regarding the future expansion of [the] series so it can be enjoyed by a wide audience.”

The reply was to a pretty basic question, when a shareholder asked if Capcom planned to continued “providing high-end visual remakes of only the main numbered entries in the Resident Evil series”.

In October of last year, Capcom said it might make a Code Veronica remake — clearly the most anticipated of the retro, non-numbered Resident Evil titles.

If we were those hopeful, we wouldn’t be holding our breath.

Would you like to see a proper Resident Evil Code Veronica remake done in the style of the Resident Evil 2Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4? Why or why not?
