Resident Evil 3 demo coming later this week, Resistance beta next week

The Resident Evil 3 demo will head to PC and consoles this week, followed by a Resident Evil Resistance beta next week.

Resident Evil 3 demo timings

First, the Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo will be available from the following times, depending on console:

  • Xbox One: 3.00 pm AEDT, 19 March
  • PC, PS4: 4.00 am AEDT, 20 March

Completing the demo will “reveal a brand new cinematic trailer exclusive to demo participants upon completion,” Capcom revealed… until, you know, someone records it and uploads it to YouTube.

The demo doesn’t appear to be a one-and-done affair like the Resident Evil 2 demo initially was — and that’s a good thing, because there are twenty Mr. Charlie statues hidden throughout the demo, taunting players to find and shoot them all the while Nemesis is hot on your heels.

Resident Evil Resistance beta timings

The RE3 demo will be followed by a Resident Evil Resistance beta in the week that follows.

“In the open beta starting March 27, players have the option to take on the role of Daniel Fabron, one of the game’s four Masterminds, to run twisted experiments using various bioweapons and traps on a group of everyday civilians. In turn, players can band together as one of four of the six Survivors, each possessing a unique ability to help their team escape the experiment before time runs out.”

Here’s when you can expect it:

  • Xbox One: 6.00 pm AEDT, 27 March
  • PC, PS4: 4.00 am AEDT, 27 March

The open beta will run through to the game’s launch on 3 April.

Resident Evil 3 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 3 April.
