Remedy says to expect more from Alan Wake, Control in future

Yes, please.

Players should expect more from the Remedy Connected Universe of Alan Wake and Control in the future, according to the developer.

“With Alan Wake and Control, we now have two established franchises, and our ambition is to grow them into franchises that have high brand recognition, a steadily growing user base, more regular cadence of sequels, and an ability to generate revenues and profits at a high level,” Remedy CEO Tero Virtala said as part of its latest quarterly report.

Remedy also confirmed that Alan Wake 2 has recouped most of the investment made by Epic Games’ publishing wing, and that Remedy expects the sequel to be a “meaningful revenue and profitability driver” moving forward.

We already know a handful of projects are already in the works — two pieces of DLC are in development for Alan Wake 2, in addition to Control 2, a four-player PvE Control experience codenamed Condor, and also the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. The latter title is technically not part of the Remedy Connected Universe, but Alex Casey and all that.

“We expect Condor, Control 2, and Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake projects to advance to the next stages of development during the first half of 2024,” Virtala added as part of the report.

Back in February of this year, Remedy secured the rights for the Control IP from publisher 505 Games.
