A range of Ubisoft PS4 titles will not be backwards compatible on PS5, a contrast to messaging on the functionality made earlier in the month by Sony.
“On Xbox Series X|S, all our Xbox One games will be backward compatible,” Ubisoft detailed in a new blog post. “On PlayStation 5, all games will be backward compatible except the following…”
Titles that aren’t backward compatible on PS5 are as follows:
- Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy Pack
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Russia
- Risk
- Star Trek Bridge Crew
- Werewolves Within
- Space Junkies
The reason as to why the titles aren’t supported wasn’t given.
Earlier in the month, Sony declared that “more than 99% of PS4 [and PlayStation VR] games will be playable on PS5 on day one,” going as far as to list 10 PS4 games that weren’t compatible. That list was seemingly complete… until now.
The PS5 heads to store shelves on 12 November.
