Quantic Dream will start making games for other platforms

Quantic Dream will no longer make PlayStation-exclusive games after being acquired by China’s NetEase Games.

The developer of titles like Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls told Variety that the change means a new beginning, leaving PlayStation-exclusivity in the past.

“There will be no changes with the governance of the company, as the objective of NetEase is to engage in a meaningful partnership with us,” Quantic Dream’s David Cage said, adding that NetEase’s investment will support Quantic Dream’s “vision of becoming a global, multi-franchise entertainment company, and to develop advanced technologies and games for the future.”

“Our objective is to be present on all platforms where there is an audience that can enjoy our experiences,” Quantic Dream’s Guillaume de Fondaumiè added. “We will, of course, continue developing on PlayStation, a platform that we know very well after having worked with Sony for 12 years, but we will also be present on all other relevant platforms.”

We’ll let you know what Quantic Dream’s working on next as information becomes available.
