PS5 Game Help to accept videos from the community

Opt in and help others.

PS5 Game Help functionality will soon expand to include videos created and shared by the community, Sony has today declared.

Called Community Game Help, the feature will “add to the current Game Help experience by expanding the library of helpful game hints, incorporating videos that are automatically generated from gameplay footage of players who have opted in to contribute,” according to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Sabrina Meditz.

The functionality requires a user to opt-in, so Sony won’t automatically be scraping your gameplay captures for helpful content.

“[Y]ou can participate by opting in from the Settings menu,” Meditz continued. “You can also opt out any time, which will remove all of your published videos from Community Game Help.

“Once you turn on the settings, your PS5 will automatically capture a video when you complete a certain activity in a game. Then, it will be reviewed by a moderator, and if approved, your video will be published as a Game Help hint for PlayStation players to watch, learn from, and rate.”

Once available — like with PS5 Game Help at present — other users can hit the PlayStation button on their DualSense to potentially access your video if they’re in a tricky spot.

The functionality isn’t available as yet; we’ll let you know when that changes.
