PS5 DualSense doesn’t have back buttons

The PS5 DualSense doesn’t have back buttons, surprising those who thought the recent PS4 Back Button peripheral was a sign of things to come.

A new PS5 peripherals website confirmed the back of the DualSense controller is devoid of any buttons, also detailing other peripherals that can be purchased and used with the upcoming next-gen console.

The PS4 Back Button peripheral was made available in February of this year, adding functionality never experienced before on a first-party Sony controller. The peripheral mimicked the back buttons available on Microsoft’s Xbox One Elite controller, leading many to believe the functionality would be native to the PS5 DualSense.

Earlier in the month, Sony confirmed that PS4 DualShock controllers will not work with PS5 games, though they will be supported with select PS4 games on PS5.
