PS3, PS Vita and PSP digital stores to close from July

Sony has detailed what to expect with the closures.

The PS3, PS Vita and PSP digital stores will close starting in July, Sony has recently confirmed.

The PS3 and PSP versions of the PlayStation Store will close on 2 July 2021, followed by the PS Vita version from 27 August.

Those who still have PS3, PS Vita and PSP consoles will still be able to re-download and play titles they’ve purchased before the dates above, though no new purchases will be possible after those times. Moreover, titles claimed through PlayStation Plus can be re-downloaded and played as long as a player’s PlayStation Plus subscription is active (and current).

Any remaining PSN Wallet funds can be used on PS4 and PS5, but if a player doesn’t have either console, they can request a refund from Sony.

A full FAQ detailing the closure can be found here.
