Project Scorpio: Xbox head Phil Spencer says it’s unclear if the new console will be shown before E3

Taking to Twitter, Xbox head Phil Spencer has said he’s unsure if Project Scorpio, Microsoft’s PS4 Pro competitor, will be showcased ahead of this year’s E3.

Spencer said he was “honestly not sure yet” if the console, due at the end of 2017, will make an appearance before June.

Spencer added that gamers “like new things at E3”, of which Project Scorpio certainly qualifies.

We interviewed Spencer extensively near the end of 2016.

We’ll have more on Project Scorpio as it becomes available.

Correction: We originally wrote “at E3” rather than “before E3” and have corrected the story appropriately.
