Project Scorpio: Older Xbox One and backwards compatible Xbox 360 games will benefit

Microsoft’s Project Scorpio will enhance older Xbox One titles alongside all backwards compatible Xbox 360 titles on any TV, it was today confirmed.

Digital Foundry has detailed that Scorpio will allow for titles to run at their maximum possible resolution, also adding improved texture filtering. Titles with variable frame-rates will benefit from the Scorpio as well, hitting their highest possible framerate thanks to the console’s powerful core. Titles capped at 30fps won’t magically be able to run at 60fps, though.

For those without a 4K television, the titles will still benefit from a lack of screen tearing and improve load times.

Stevivor has compared Project Scorpio’s specs to that of Xbox One and PS4 here.
