Pokemon Sword and Shield has version-exclusive gyms

Pokemon Sword and Shield will have version-exclusive gyms, adding more weight to which iteration of the game players decide to pick up.

New gameplay shown off on YouTube has confirmed the version-exclusive gyms, with different gym leaders featuring in each. As examples, Fighting-type expert Bea will appear inside Pokemon Sword, while creepy Ghost-type leader Allister will feature in Pokemon Shield.

Not every gym will be version-exclusive, of course — leaders like Chairman Rose will feature in both titles.

You can check out the leaders alongside a bit of extra gameplay below. Will the version-exclusive gyms impact which title you buy?

Pokemon Sword and Shield heads to Nintendo Switch on 15 November. We previewed it at E3 2019.
