Pokémon Go: Here’s how incense spawns Pokémon

A look into Pokémon Go‘s code shows just how in-game incense works.

Simply put, incense will spawn a Pokémon every time a Trainer walks 200 meters. This is also limited to one minute intervals, meaning a Trainer could potentially spawn 30 Pokémon in 30 minutes by keeping active.

If you’re not moving, the game’s code will spawn a new Pokémon every five minutes.

Simple, right? For more tips, we’ve got a getting started guide for you alongside advanced tactics.
