Pokemon Go Fest 2020 goes local, globally

The Pokemon Go Fest 2020 will be held locally — globally — shifting in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis.

“This year, we’re bringing you a totally reimagined Pokémon GO Fest experience,” developer Niantic said in a new blog post.

“Save the dates: on July 25 and 26, Pokémon GO Fest 2020 will take place as an entirely global event in a virtual format, which will allow Trainers worldwide to participate from wherever they play. In another first, all ticket holders will be able to attend both days of this two-day event.”

We’ll have more on what Pokemon Go Fest will look like as more information is provided. Previous Pokemon Go Fests, held in Chicago, USA, offered the chance for Shiny Pokemon and new Mythical Pokemon via quests.

Pokemon Go is available now on iOS and Android devices.
