PlayStation VR wireless headset patent spotted in the wild

A PlayStation VR wireless headset patent has been located on the internet, causing fans of the peripheral to hope for an eventual release.

The patent details a “program capable of switching a frequency band used for communication earlier than before according to a change in an environment in which a communication device or a communication partner is placed.” While that sounds complex, an attached image makes it a little easier to understand: a hub communicates wirelessly to a PlayStation VR headset rather than requiring a bunch of cables.

Check the image out below.

While we’re pretty happy with the experience that PlayStation VR has to offer, a host of cables to manage is one of our criticisms of the set up. We’re certainly hoping this patent makes it through production.
