PlayStation VR: Your TV won’t be able to support HDR with the unit plugged in

In a recently released FAQ, Sony has confirmed that your TV will not be able to use its HDR functions whilst a PlayStation VR unit is plugged into it.

To use a PSVR headset, you’ll need to plug in an HDMI splitter that sends a signal to both your PSVR headset and your TV. The splitter has some limitations — while it does support 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, it doesn’t support HDR. That means you’ll need to remove the splitter whenever you want to take advantage of your TV’s HDR functionality. Got that?

PlayStation VR is available from 13 October. The full FAQ is available here.
